We have started on our religion unit- discussing values. "MATRO DEVO BAHVA/PITRA DEVO BHAVA" We started with discussing about respect to elders. We discussed respect to parents and learnt about story of Shravan Kumar  and his devotion to parents. . We also listened to the story of Ganesha going around his parents and thereby winning the compeition against his brother. We concluded that segment with sharing what each one of us would do to show our respect to parents.

 

We went on to discuss next about respect to teachers and why it is important  - "ACHARYA DEVO BHAVA" . We learnt about Ekalvya's  respect for his teacher and his achievements . We felt very sad that he had to give his finger as "guru dakshina". We then talked as to what we can do in the class room and how to be good model students.
